Corn and milk make the most incredible combination! The texture of the onions is also irresistible. The sweetness from the vegetables permeates the entire soup.

The butter used for the soup gives it a rich and mellow taste. The basic seasoning is just salt, and I recommend not using consommé for this soup. I enjoyed this delicious and comforting corn soup!

Corn soup is one of the major and popular soups. However, since many commercial and instant soups are available on the market, I had never made it in the Hot-Cook before.

But when I tried to make it, I was surprised at how good it tasted!

The flavor of the ingredients comes alive, and you can taste the deliciousness of homemade soup, which is by far different from instant soups.

The official recipe uses “cream type” canned corn.

I had mistakenly bought a can of “whole type” corn, but I was able to make it successfully with a bit of ingenuity.

Since then, I have used whole canned corn to make corn soup.

I like making it with whole canned corn because I can taste the texture of the corn more.

Hot Cook Recipe [Corn soup] One Point Advice

  • For basic seasoning, we recommend using only “salt” without consommé. You will be able to taste the flavor of the ingredients.
  • The amount of salt to use is, as usual, 0.6% of the weight of the ingredients used plus the weight of the milk, according to Ms. Kazuyo Katsuma’s method. In this case, the total weight of the ingredients + milk was about 680g, so I seasoned it with 680g X 0.006 = about 4g of salt.

Hot Cook Recipe [Corn soup] Ingredients: 4 people

  • Canned sweet corn (cream type): 1 can (180-200g)
  • Onion: 1/2 onion (about 100g)
  • Milk: 400ml
  • Butter: 30g
  • Pepper: a little to taste
  • Salt: about 4g (less than 1 teaspoon)
  • Parsley: a little to taste (or not)

It can be cooked automatically for 2-6 servings.

Hot Cook Recipe [Corn soup] How to make

STEP 1:Prepare ingredients
  • Chop the onion.
  • Prepare a can of sweet corn (cream type).

  • Prepare seasonings.
STEP 2:Put all ingredients in the Hot Cook inner pot
  • First, place the onions in the pot.

  • Next, add canned sweet corn (cream type).

  • Finally, add milk, butter, pepper, and salt.

STEP 3:Press the cook menu button♪

Select a menu => Search by category => Soup =>

Corn soup => Start cooking => Start

STEP 4:Complete!

When you hear the finishing chime, open the lid, and serve in a soup plate or mug.
Sprinkle with parsley if desired.

For 4 servings, use an entire can (180-200 g) of canned creamed sweet corn.

This time, I added about 10 grams of regular corn, which I had leftover in the fridge from another dish, to cook a corn-filled type.

When made with a whole-type corn can

You can enjoy delicious corn soup in the Hot-Cook even if you use whole-type corn.

The ingredients, seasonings, and basic process are the same as the “cream type.”

The difference is that you first use a food processor to make the “Corn Cream.”

STEP 1:Make the Corn Cream
  • Place half of a whole can (about 100 g) in a food processor.
    Add milk (50 ml) and flour (1 tsp).
    Blend in the food processor until the corn is almost crumbly.

STEP 2:Put all ingredients in the Hot Cook inner pot
  • First, add the onions to the pot.
  • Next, add the “cream of corn” you just made.
  • Add the corn left in the whole can (about 100g).
  • Add butter (30 g) and pepper (a little).
  • Finally, add milk (350 ml) and salt (1.5 g).

Select a menu => Search by category => Soup =>
